The Kedarnath, Badrinath & Tungnath Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage covering three significant Shiva and Vishnu temples in the Garhwal Himalayas. Kedarnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, is revered as a powerful center of devotion, while Badrinath, the abode of Lord Vishnu, is an important part of the Char Dham Yatra. Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world, is part of the Panch Kedar and offers a deeply spiritual and scenic experience.
This 6-day journey from Haridwar is an ideal blend of devotion, adventure, and breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, making it a truly enriching and fulfilling pilgrimage.
The Do Dham Yatra with Tungnath begins as you arrive in Haridwar, where our team will receive you near the Haridwar Railway Station at 8:00 AM. Our journey towards Sonprayag takes us through the mesmerizing landscapes of Uttarakhand, rich in spiritual and natural beauty.
On the way, we make a special stop at Devprayag Sangam, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers merge to form the sacred Ganges River. This place holds immense religious significance, and devotees believe that taking a dip here washes away sins.
After this divine experience, we take a short break to enjoy lunch (at own cost) before proceeding to Dhari Devi Temple, located on the banks of the Alaknanda River. This temple, dedicated to Goddess Dhari, is believed to protect the region from natural calamities.
We continue our drive to Sonprayag, a spiritually significant place. Upon arrival, you may choose to explore the town or rest for the upcoming mountain trek. We then check into the hotel, have dinner, and settle in for the night.
Meal : DinnerAfter an early breakfast, we check out at 4:30 AM and begin our journey towards Gaurikund, the base point for the Kedarnath trek. We take a local taxi from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, though a waiting time of 1-2 hours may apply.
Upon arrival at Gaurikund, we visit Gauri Temple, where Goddess Parvati is believed to have meditated to attain Lord Shiva. We also take a holy dip in Tapt Kund, a natural hot water spring known for its healing properties.
The 18 km trek to Kedarnath Temple begins here. The trek typically takes 8-12 hours, and pony or palanquin rides are available at additional cost. Along the way, we take short breaks at Bheembali and Rambara, which offer scenic views and refreshments.
Upon reaching Kedarnath, we attend the evening Aarti at Kedarnath Temple (6-7 PM). If time permits, we seek blessings at the temple before checking into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Meal : Breakfast & DinnerWe wake up before dawn to attend morning Aarti at Kedarnath Temple (4-5 AM), ensuring an early darshan. This allows us to experience the serene and spiritual atmosphere of the temple during the most sacred hours.
After darshan, we visit Bheem Shila, a massive rock that miraculously protected the Kedarnath Temple during the 2013 floods. We then proceed to Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, the sacred resting place of the sage who revived Hindu philosophy.
Next, we explore Bhukund Bhairavnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Bhairav, the guardian deity of Kedarnath. After these spiritual visits, we return to the hotel for breakfast and check out by 10 AM.
We begin our descent to Gaurikund, which takes 6-8 hours, followed by a taxi ride back to Sonprayag (1-2 hours waiting time may apply). Upon arrival at Sonprayag, we check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Meal : Breakfast & DinnerAfter breakfast, we begin our 70 km drive to Chopta, also known as the 'Mini Switzerland of India'. This scenic journey takes us through lush meadows and dense forests, offering mesmerizing views of the Garhwal Himalayas.
Upon arrival, we begin the 4 km trek to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world, standing at 3,680 meters. Continuing further, we trek for another hour to Chandrashila Peak (4,090 meters), which offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba peaks.
After exploring the area, we descend back to Chopta and check into our campsite, where a bonfire night (weather permitting) awaits.
Meal : Breakfast & DinnerAfter breakfast, we set out on a 140 km drive to Badrinath, passing through Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag, and Vishnuprayag. Upon arrival, we seek blessings at Badrinath Temple and take a holy dip in Tapt Kund, a sacred geothermal hot spring. We then check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
